Why do we support CHASE?

We lived at CHASE at Christopher's only for a short while, but seeing the wonderful work they do there left a huge impression on our family. They supported us through the most difficult time a family can ever go through, the loss of a child. We were comfortable and looked after and no pressure put on us at all when the time came to go. The efforts the staff put into making sure Otto was as comfortable as possible at the end was tremendous. They welcomed not only us, but the extended family that were here at the time as well. As a thank you to CHASE and the staff at Christopher's and in support of their cause we set up this page, so that if you wanted to you and are able you can make a donation to them in memory of Otto.

Our first project is the Jolly Good Motor Tour 2008. Last year it raised £15,000 for CHASE. So you might ask what this motor tour has to do with Otto and why we are so interested in taking part. Part of the question is answered by the 'thank you' to CHASE. On a more personal level we want to take part because we believe Otto would have loved doing this with us. I can't say it was his biggest dream as a 4-year-old to take part in the tour in a Cinquecento, I wish I could. But it was a family-dream of ours to own a Cinquecento and take it on wild and not so wild tours. We did own an old banged-up little yellow one for a short while in 2006, but didn't have the know-how or resources to fix it up. Otto loved that little car. He also, more than anything, loved our little wooden boat, Mayotto. We hardly ever get to use it, so we think he would have approved to sell the one in order to buy the other and take it on tour. Who knows what the future might hold for the little 'Chase around the World' car!

In order to take part, we need to raise money to cover the cost of the trip and a donation that goes straight to CHASE. With my limited skills in web-design, I can't promise a really easy-to-use page to pledge or sponsor us, but if you want to help with the fundraising, visit our fundraising page or get in touch at home@ottopaul.com.
